このMBでは、SATAのモードが"RAID"と"IDE"から選べるが、デフォルトではRAIDである。 この状態で、FreeBSD/amd64 5.4-RELEASEのインストールCDで起動すると、最初のローダから 少し進んだところで応答がなくなってしまう。
一方、IDEにすると、きちんと通常のインストーラが起動する。なお、この時のSATA0側の HDDは、ad4として認識される。IDE0/IDE1にad0-ad3が当てられるので、当然か。
ただ、なぜかad4の転送モードがUDMA33止まりらしい。おそらく、チップセットであるALi M1689が FreeBSD 5-STABLEできちんとサポートされていないためだろう。[2005.10.16]

WakeUp On LAN
BIOSのメニューにそれらしきものが見当たらない。もちろん、デフォルトのままでは無理。
"OnBoard LAN BOOT ROM"を有効にすればうまくいく。ただし、このままだと、 PXE bootができてしまいそうでちょっと不安。そこで、起動時にHDDをプローブしたあとの画面で、 Shift+F10を押してセットアップを行い、ROMだけにした。[2005.10.16]
